چکیده

A graph G is a chordal-k-generalized split graph if G is chordal and there is a clique Q in G such that every connected component in G[V \ Q] has at most k vertices. Thus, chordal-1-generalized split graphs are exactly the split graphs. We characterize chordal-k-generalized split graphs by forbidden induced subgraphs. Moreover, we characterize a very special case of chordal-2-generalized split graphs for which the Efficient Domination problem is NP-complete.

Algorithmic Aspects of the Generalized Clique-transversal Problem on Chordal Graphs

Suppose G=( V,E) is a graph in which each maximal clique Ci is associated with an integer ri, where 0 < ri < ICi 1. The generalized clique transversal problem is to determine the minimum cardinality of a subset D of V such that ID n Cij >ri for every maximal clique Ci of G. The problem includes the clique-transversal problem, the i, 1 clique-cover problem, and for perfect graphs, the maximum q-...

Complexity of Generalized Colourings of Chordal Graphs

The generalized graph colouring problem (GCOL) for a fixed integer k, and fixed classes of graphs P1, . . . ,Pk (usually describing some common graph properties), is to decide, for a given graph G, whether the vertex set of G can be partitioned into sets V1, . . . , Vk such that, for each i, the induced subgraph of G on Vi belongs to Pi. It can be seen that GCOL generalizes many natural colouri...

Partitioning chordal graphs into independent sets and cliques

We consider the following generalization of split graphs: A graph is said to be a (k, l)-graph if its vertex set can be partitioned into k independent sets and l cliques. (Split graphs are obtained by setting k = l = 1). Much of the appeal of split graphs is due to the fact that they are chordal, a property not shared by (k, l)-graphs in general. (For instance, being a (k, 0)-graph is equivalen...

Harmonious Coloring on Subclasses of Colinear Graphs

Given a simple graph G, a harmonious coloring of G is a proper vertex coloring such that each pair of colors appears together on at most one edge. The harmonious chromatic number is the least integer k for which G admits a harmonious coloring with k colors. Extending previous NP-completeness results of the harmonious coloring problem on subclasses of chordal and co-chordal graphs, we prove that...

List Partitions of Chordal Graphs

In an earlier paper we gave efficient algorithms for partitioning chordal graphs into k independent sets and l cliques. This is a natural generalization of the problem of recognizing split graphs, and is NPcomplete for graphs in general, unless k ≤ 2 and l ≤ 2. (Split graphs have k = l = 1.) In this paper we expand our focus and consider generalM -partitions, also known as trigraph homomorphism...
